The 63 models also get an adaptive suspension setup.
This is the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 4 Door Coupe. The company has updated its performance sedan, with minor changes to the exterior design, interior layout, and Mercedes adding a sharp new Manufaktur Exclusive Edition and a few additional color options.
Manufaktur Exclusive Edition, a first for the GT 4-Door Coupe, makes its US debut atop the GT 53. The exterior is finished in Rubellite Red metallic with a trim-specific 21 inch AMG wheels. The interior features a Neva Grey Exclusive Nappa Leather with Ash wood trim and an AMG Performance steering knob.
All 2022 GT 4-Door models get an AMG Performance steering knob with a twin-spoke design, drive mode dials and seamlessly integrated buttons. Nappa leather and Nappa with Dinamica Suede are available to buyers. Heating is also available for six-cylinder models, as well as standard V8 models.
The cabin’s interior gets new leather options such as Classic Red, Yacht Blue and Deep White. You can also choose to spend more on Nappa Leather in Titanium Grey Pearl, with yellow contrast stitching or Exclusive Auburn Brown Nappa with black diamond stitching. The GT 4-Door now has a 5-seat configuration, with an optional rear bench.
Both the 43 and 53 models have the same turbocharged 3.0-liter Inline-Six engines with EQ Boost. They are good for 362 horsepower (270 kilowatts) respectively and 429 horsepower (325 kilowatts). The GT 43 can reach 60 mph in 4.8 seconds while the GT 53 takes 4.4 seconds. Mercedes-AMG will soon release information about the V8-powered 63 S and 63 S models.
We do know that the V8 model will receive a completely reworked adaptive suspension. AMG Ride Control Plus has two pressure limiting valves that control the multi-chamber air suspension system. One valve controls rebound damping and the other compression damping. Mercedes claims that the GT 4-Door’s new suspension will be more enjoyable to drive in Comfort mode, and better in Sport and Sport Plus modes.
The new Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door family of Mercedes-AMG GT will be available in dealerships later in the fall. Although the company has not yet released pricing information, expect an increase. For the base model 43, the current GT 4-Door is priced at $89,000.
