Even though the wrapper is plain white, it still exudes a good pickup presence.
Technically speaking, these photos of the 2022 Nissan Frontier don’t look like spy shots. They kinda are. Nissan showed us a Pro-4X model when it unveiled the long-awaited Frontier in February. It will come in a variety of trims with the most affordable being the Frontier S.
The starter Frontier S is less loud than the Pro-4X but still has a lot of power and swagger. The grille, rear bumper, and front fascia are made of black plastic. Additionally, the handles on the doors have lost their body color to make them look more modern. The wheels are simple, made of steel and have a silver center cap that covers the hubs. It is not clear if this is a 4-wheel-drive model. However, the wheels’ stance and street-friendly tires indicate that it only powers two wheels.
It’s still not a blank canvas. Standard-issue is the mighty 3.8-liter V6 with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It generates 310 horsepower (231 Kilowatts) as well as 281 pound-feet (381 Newton meters) of torque. Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and an 8-inch touchscreen. You can check the options boxes and see why the Frontier is a standout among mid-sized competitors. It offers a wide range of safety and assist gear.
The truck is not yet available at dealers and we are still waiting patiently for a test drive to experience the new Frontier. This summer, you can expect that to happen.
