This could be the final update of the SUV.
If you are a fan of Patrol, the Middle East is your best bet. The renowned off-roader is available in multiple versions over there from Nissan. The Patrol Safari, a body-on-frame SUV that is based on the Y61 previous-generation model, is also available locally.
The Y62-based Nismo performance derivative was launched towards the end 2015, but has not been updated. However, the normal Patrol was updated in 2019. Recent spy photos from the Middle East suggest that the new version will soon be released. Nissan was photographed taking photos of the SUV. Kolesa have now created the 2022 Patrol Nismo based on this camo-free vehicle.
The Patrol Nismo, which will join the Juke Nismo as well as other Nissan SUVs that have received upgrades from the performance division of Nissan, will adopt the same styling cues seen on the regular ladder frame SUV. These include the same redesign of the headlights and taillights as the US-spec Armada.
Facelifted versions will have a new front bumper design. They will adopt larger air intakes to give the Patrol Nismo an even more meaner stance. It will continue to have a quad exhaust system at the rear, and the large RAYS forged alloy wheels of 22 inches are going to be retained from the prefacelift model.
The official unveiling of the 2022 Patrol Nismo is also on track. The SUV, which is faster than the previous model, was captured in broad daylight loading onto a trailer. This may have been after another photoshoot. It will retain the subtle red accents from its predecessor, and it is expected to inherit the naturally aspirated V8 engine of 428 horsepower.
Given that Nissan has been seen on several occasions with ads for the new model, the premiere could be held in the next few weeks or months. We expect the Patrol Nismo’s debut to be in the Middle East, where the rugged SUV is still very popular. The all-new Patrol will be available later in the decade. It could also share the platform with the next generation Mitsubishi Pajero.
