Performance is actually up for all Macan trims. Turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder in the base Macan increases to 261 horsepower (195 kW) & 295 pound-feet (405 Newton-meters) over last year. The Macan S replaces last year’s GTS. The boosted V6 produces 375 horsepower (280-kW) and all Macans are driven through a seven speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. The GTS also comes with Porsche Surface Coated Brakes and adaptive air suspension that has a lower ride height. It is up to 15% stiffer than the previous GTS.

The Sport Design side mirrors come in gloss black. 21-inch GT Design wheels have high-performance tires. 18-way sport seats are inside. There are more black on the side skits and the rear fascias.

Facias are where the minor visual changes will be made. Front fascia gets integrated air intakes and trim in body color. The fascia’s three narrow vents are now merged into one continuous strip. This gives the face a more boxy, symmetrical appearance. Porsche describes the prominent side blades as a 3D element. The rear fascia is covered with a black diffuser that has been stretched upwards. According to Porsche, LED headlights come standard. There are seven new wheel designs available, with a choice of either 19-inch or 21, depending on the trim level.

Interior updates are also subtle. The primary update to the interior is a redesign of the center console. It features haptic touch elements and more storage. The console has a shorter gear stalk. A new steering wheel, adapted from the 911, takes care of the rest. The standard-issue analog clock and a 10.9-inch touchscreen are located in the middle. There are many safety and driver-assist features, including lane-keep assistance, park assist, and others.

Porsche claims that the 2022 Macan will start at $54,900. The Macan S is priced at $65,400 and the flagship GTS at $79,000. Delivery charges are $1,350 per vehicle. All trims will be available at dealerships by early 2022.
