2022 Porsche Taycan gets flashy new colors and faster charging

The Taycan is now able to park itself and has Android Auto.

The 2022 Porsche Taycan, and Taycan Cross Turismo come with new tech upgrades and old-school colors to keep the EVs in top shape. They will be arriving at American dealers by the end of this year.

The electric powertrain of the 2022 Taycan is more efficient in thermal management and charging. Turbo Charging Planner heats the battery to reduce charge times. It allows for faster charging, and also charges at a higher level. However, the company does not say how fast the Taycan can be charged. The vehicle can also harvest heat from electronic components to improve battery temperature regulation.

The Paint to sample and Paint to sample Plus palettes are available for those who want to add a splash of color. Paint to Sample comes in 65 colors, including retro-inspired shades such as Moonlight Blue Metallic (pictured above), Riviera Blue, Rubystar, and Viola Metallic. Paint to Sample Plus allows customers to choose any color they want.

The Taycan now offers Remote Park Assist. Remote Park Assist allows the car to pull into a space and exit from it without the need for a driver. The system can also handle parallel parking. The feature can be activated from the inside of the vehicle, then the owner can get out and let it take over. A person can also do this from their smartphone.

The infotainment system now supports Android Auto, which is a strange improvement for EVs. This is not the wireless version, so users will need to connect their smartphones to the USB-C port. This functionality was not available for a vehicle with a high price tag, which can easily reach six figures.

Porsche has also updated the Voice Pilot voice assistant in order to better understand instructions. According to Porsche, the satellite navigation system performs faster calculations and features redesigned graphics that are easier to read.
