2022 Toyota Land Cruiser Offroader Rendering Looks like a Profitable No-Brainer

It is likely that it will happen in a matter of days.

Rather confusingly, Toyota’s top of-the-range Land Cruiser is called GR Sport. The LC300 is the best off-road vehicle, but it’s not the only one. The attached rendering illustrates a possible derivative that would please serious off-road enthusiasts.

The new Land Cruiser is fitted with a snorkel and rides on all-terrain chunky rubber tires. This special edition was made to mark the 70th anniversary of the SUV. The Kolesa artist envisioned the vehicle that can go anywhere with a snorkel, dual tow hooks and was part of a series upgrades that the aftermarket is likely already planning for the LC300.

Toyota doesn’t need to spice up its Land Cruiser lineup at the moment, considering that it has significant problems keeping up with demand. The company has received over 20,000 preorders and, due to the shortage of microchips, the waiting period has reportedly increased from three years. Yes, years.

A future flagship version could inherit the hybrid powertrain of the 2022 Tundra. The new full-size pickup truck will use the same platform as Land Cruiser. It will come with a twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6 engine and an electric motor. This combination produces 437 horsepower (326 Kilowatts) & 583 pound-feet (790 Newton meters) of torque.

Another possibility is for the next generation Lexus LX, to receive the electrified setup in addition to the off-road chops of the new Land Cruiser. We expect the LX to offer more than a Toyota-styled version of the Toyota model once it debuts in late 2018 or early 2022.
