Both are available with hybrid power and all-wheel drive.
Since late 2001, Toyota has offered the Noah and Voxy minivans. Now the pair is moving to the fourth generation. The boxy family haulers look bolder than ever. They can accommodate up to eight people and are available in wheelchair-adapted Welcab configurations. They are built on the TNGA C platform and have power sliding doors, running boards and hand grips.
JDM people carriers are engineered with both front- and rear-wheel-drive drivetrains. They feature a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and a CVT. For fun shift changes, the latter comes with a 10-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic. A hybrid powertrain is also available. It consists of a 1.8-liter unit and an upgraded electric motor with a battery pack. This is a better option than the older-generation models.
If their designs are not polarizing enough for you, the Voxy and Noah can optionally be outfitted with additional goodies from Toyota’s inhouse tuners Modellista. There are many options available, including custom 18-inch wheels and body kits. You can also get additional exterior lighting or door handle protectors. These add-ons can be found on the inside, where customers can get a JBL sound system or an inflatable mattress.
The two models are described as “compact Cab Wagons” and have more upright C-pillars. For more space inside, the distance between them has been increased by 75 millimeters (nearly 3 in) to 1,295mm (51in). The minivans measure 4,695mm (184.8in) in length, 4,695mm (184.8in) wide, and 1,895-1.925mm (74.6-75.7 in) high, depending on which version.
The interior is mounted on a wheelbase of 2,850mm (112.2 inches). It has a practical underfloor that houses a large storage box with a capacity of 104 liters (3.67 cubic feet). The rearmost seats can be folded down easily using a sliding mechanism. The seven-seat model comes with the captain’s chairs in second row.
The center screen of the cheaper trims is eight inches. However, the larger models have a 10.5 inch display. Toyota claims that it is the first manufacturer to offer a free-stop rear hatch for cars without a power-operated tailgate. It works like this: The Karakuri mechanism works by pushing the rear door at any angle.
The 2022 minivans can be purchased in the Land of the Rising Sun for between 2,670,000 and 3,960,000 yen, or approximately $23,300 to $44,500 at current exchange rates. Toyota calls the Noah the mainstream model, while Voxy is the exclusive one.
