The 2022 Toyota Prius Nightshade special edition will completely cover the hybrid’s exterior in Midnight Black Metallic. The edition can also be ordered in Super White or Silver Metallic if you don’t like its ultra-dark exterior. You can choose from front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive layouts. Toyota has not yet disclosed the price.
Nightshade includes black parts for the door handles, mirror caps, and headlight accents. The exterior colors match the rear deck spoiler, shark fin antenna, but if this package is purchased, Midnight Black will be the best choice to complement the car’s stealthy appearance.
Front-wheel-drive models come with 17-inch five-spoke wheels. All-wheel-drive models come with 15-inch multi-spoke wheels. Both versions have a dark finish, and inserts and nuts are black.
The Nightshade’s interior features a semi-glossy black center console, and a heated steering column. Front-wheel-drive models have a heated, eight-way adjustable power-adjustable driver seat and a four-way power–adjustable passenger seating. The all-wheel-drive version has a six-way power adjustable driver’s seat.
Nightshade features a 7.0 inch infotainment screen and supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa. It also includes a 6-speaker JBL stereo system and Qi wireless charging tray.
The hybrid-assisted, 1.8-liter four cylinder produces 121 horsepower (90 megawatts). An electric motor is added to the rear of the all-wheel-drive model. It produces 7 horsepower (5 kW) and 41 pound-feet (6 Newton-meters).
The Safety Sense 2.0 suite is available on the Prius Nightshade, just like other Toyotas. It includes a pre-collision system that detects bicyclists and low-light pedestrians, adaptive cruise control with lane departure alert and automatic high beams as well as road sign assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and parking assist.
