Although it is more expensive than the previous model, it has more standard equipment.
The 2022 model-year is going to be a significant one for Volkswagen. The German brand is retiring Passat in the United States . A new limited edition model was released, and the Golf R and Golf GTI are now available . The 2022 Arteon will debut a new engine, but it is still missing the R suffix in America.
The 2.0-liter TSI turbo-gas engine delivers a peak output power of 300 horsepower (224 kilowatts), and 295 pound-feet (405 Newton-meters). Although it isn’t quite as powerful as the Arteon R in Europe, which produced 315 horsepower (235kW), this engine is a significant upgrade to the 2021 Arteon’s 268 horsepower (200kW) and 258 lbft (350 Nm). The eight-speed torque converter auto has been replaced by a seven-speed dual-clutch. The Arteon Shooting Brake remains a no go in the United States.
The Arteon will come in three trims for the model year 2022. The SE R-Line, the entry-level model, starts at $39,995 and comes with front-wheel drive. The SEL R-Line, mid-range, with 4Motion all-wheel driving, starts at $44,615. The SEL Premium R-Line model is priced at $44,615. However, Volkswagen states that it will not receive new equipment for the next model year. This means that the price of the SEL Premium R-Line model will remain the same as it was in 2021 MY. All models have a destination of $1,195.
The base price for the Arteon has increased by $3,000 over last year. However, it now includes more standard equipment. The R-Line package, which includes wireless charging for mobile phones and wireless charging, is now available on all grades. Depending on the trim, there will be 18- or 20 inch wheels, front and back parking sensors, and many other features.
