2023 Kia Sportage Revealed with New Design, Rugged Trim X-Pro

Finally, the crossover makes its debut in America. In the first quarter 2022, the fifth generation of the crossover will arrive in America.

The 2023 Sportage shares N3 platform with Sorento, which uses an increased number of hot-stamped parts as well as ultra-high-strength Steel to increase tensile strength. To provide quieter riding, there’s more sound-absorbing material as well as insulation.

The Sportage is larger than the previous model. The overall length of the new Sportage is 7.1 inches (18 cms) longer and the wheelbase has increased by 3.4 inches (8.64 cmimeters).

Engines

Although Kia has not yet released specific details about the powertrain of the new Sportage, the company does have preliminary data. The new 2.5-liter four cylinder produces 187 horsepower (139kilowatts) as well as an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can choose between front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive.

The hybrid powertrain option will also be offered. The automaker announced that it will be offering “forthcoming electrified models” but did not provide any further information. There’s a plug-in hybrid in South Korea. This could be what Kia might hint at for the US.

Going Off-Road

The 2023 Sportage, a rugged crossover is available in the X-Line or X-Pro trims. Both models come with all-wheel drive. The X-Line comes with a satin chrome surround to the bumpers. Gloss black parts are available for the mirror caps and roof rack. Mounting accessories is made easier by the raised rails on the roof rack. It is equipped with 19-inch wheels.

The X-Pro can also be used off-road. It comes with matte black 17-inch wheels and B.F. Goodrich all terrain tires. You can also get LED fog lights and heated windshields and washer nozzles. There are multi-terrain driving modes, including sport, smart, snow, normal and smart. You can also choose a two-tone roof.

The X-Pro Prestige also comes with a few additional amenities. The X-Pro Prestige adds LED projectors and ventilated front seats. It also has an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat.

What does it look like?

The Sportage has a more striking appearance than the previous generation. The brand’s new tiger-nose grille sits lower and is surrounded by a blacked out grille. The front is distinguished by its boomerang-shaped daytime running lamps. The beltline is profiled at the A-pillar, then it rises to the rear.

Interior design for the 2023 model is a major upgrade. A panoramic curved display with integrated 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and 12.3 inch infotainment screen is available to buyers. The touchpad controls the climate and audio. The functions of the knobs can be adjusted depending on whether the temperature is being changed or the volume.

Stay Safe

Kia loaded the new Sportage full of safety tech. The base model includes forward collision avoidance and lane-keeping assistance, reverse parking distance warnings, driver attention warnings, rear occupant alert, and reverse parking distance warnings. Other options include forward collision avoidance and blind-spot collision avoidance as well as rear cross-traffic collision preventance, forward parking distance warning and reverse parking collision avoidance.

The 2023 Sportage will come in the following trims: LX EX, SX-Prestige SX-Line, X-Pro Prestige and X-Pro Prestige. Kia will soon announce the pricing and details about each trim.
