GLC 400d will be powered by a larger engine than the GLC 63’s four-cylinder GLC.

It will be the only midsize luxury SUV with six-cylinder power.
The mild-hybrid six-pot engine will be available, just like the smaller engines. This will reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Mercedes engineered the powertrain using a 48-volt integrated start generator that generates 22 horsepower and 147 pounds (200 Newton-meters) for just a moment. The GLC 400d can coast even with the engine off to improve fuel economy.
It seems strange that a 6-cylinder GLC is being sold while AMG versions have only two cylinders. The cylinder count is not the only thing that matters, especially as the 400d and performance derivatives are tailored to different customers.
