2023 Volkswagen ID. Buzz Based on Teaser

The electric van is colorfully painted ahead of its March 9 debut.

Volkswagen’s ID is now complete with a hatchback, three SUVs and a trio more. In a few months, the lineup will be expanded to include a highly anticipated van (oxymoron). The Microbus’ spirit will be revived by the addition of a box-on-wheels to the ID.3 hatchback, ID.4, and ID.5 high-riding models. Wolfsburg-based company Buzz has teased the Buzz to death. The latest preview serves as a foundation for what will be a realistic rendering.

You shouldn’t assume that the production version will look exactly like the name-brand concept from 2017. This won’t be true. We have been looking through comments on the previous ID. Most of the buzz articles have been negative with many people complaining about the new styling. We are eager to see the final version, as always.

It will look something like this. It could, if you consider the unofficial rendering that was taken after VW’s ID. Buzz recently showed off a slim and colorful body wrap. Although the digital design exercise shows the passenger model of the vehicle, the German brand confirmed that it also has a commercial derivative and a California camper van.

The ID. The ID. The modern Microbus will be available with one or two electric motors if you prefer to ditch the combustion engine. The base models will have rear-wheel drive, while the higher trims will get AWD.2023 Volkswagen ID. Buzz official teaser

The ID will be assembled by VW Commercial Vehicles. Buzz, Germany plans to make the electric van available in North America in the model year 2024. Only the US-spec version will be available in passenger-oriented flavors and possibly with a longer wheelbase. MEB-based EVs come with multiple packs, including an 82-kWh lithium-ion battery. This seems to be a great fit for the new zero emission van.

The aforementioned California derivative won’t be available for sale until 2025.
