Actually, it’s “an electric, autonomous, shared, ‘robo-vehicle’ concept.”
Renault previews the future of personal and shared mobility in Geneva. The EZGO concept is an electric and autonomous robot-vehicle study. The French manufacturer explained that it’s more than a car. It also offers a service, which allows users to hail a ride from either a fixed or mobile location.
The EZ-GO is an ideological successor to the Symbioz idea. This first in a series of studies by the brand focusing on mobility services will be released this year. The EZ-GO can be operated by public or private companies and will be made available via a mobile app or permanent stations.
Although it isn’t a stunning vehicle, the design is in line with the vehicle’s purpose. The large glass areas in the cabin are meant to maximize the field vision of the autonomous system’s sensors and radars. The panoramic glass roof allows natural light inside.
Renault claims that the concept can only travel 30 mph (50 km/h) to increase safety.
