We hope that a Grand Sport is possible.

is just two weeks away, but many ‘Vette enthusiasts are still curious about the future of the supercar. This pair of renderings by Abimelec Design, Facebook, shows what could be a future Corvette model. It will be instantly recognized by Corvette Grand Sport fans.

The changes can be seen head-on and are quite simple. The iconic dual red stripes are seen on the front with a white stripe at the hood. A set of gold wheels separates it from the C8 group. Rear is where the real magic happens. The lower fascia has been redesigned and now features quad ovals in the middle. This is the aggressive look we love on the C7 Corvette. The Grand Sport has aero tweaks from the Z06 so there’s a bigger spoiler and modified bodywork behind the rear windows. We don’t know much about the new C8 Z06, so this is purely speculation. However, it’s not bad at all.

What will the future C8 models look like? The Z06 will be the next C8 model to go on the market. A Grand Sport would follow a few months later. Chevrolet has been writing a new chapter for the Corvette with the mid-engined model. It’s difficult to predict what will happen next. This is especially true considering that the C8 will eventually have a completely new DOHC engine and a hybrid version which could produce upwards of 1,000 horsepower.
