Mansory shows the Ferrari Portofino its wild side

All things carbon fiber

Mansory, a controversial tuner, has been very busy with many tuning projects in recent months. After wild modifications to the F8 Tributo, 812 GTS earlier this year, the Portofino is their 3rd customized Ferrari. The retractable hardtop is a highlight of the German aftermarket specialist. It is now entirely made of forged carbon.

Many body add-ons share the same lightweight construction. You can see them from almost every angle. Like the mirror caps and side skirts, the front apron as well as the hood air vents are made of forged carbon. This theme is carried over to the door handles and pillars.

The custom wheels have a yellow rim edge that matches the body’s color. These new shoes are 21 inches long at the front and 22 inches at the rear and represent a new Mansory wheel design that will be available later in the year for all Ferrari-based tuning programs.

The interior of the Portofino cabin is finished in black leather and has striking yellow accents. This gives it a visual connection to the brightly painted exterior. The rest of the switchgear, with the exception of three buttons that denote the Italian flag and the black hazard light control, has been finished yellow. The center cap of the steering wheel has been replaced by Mansory’s logo, surrounded with carbon fiber.

The twin-turbo V8 engine of 3.9-liters has been tuned by the tuner. It now produces 591 horsepower (760 Newton-meters) and 560 pounds-feet (890 Nm). To trump the Portofino Modificata, it now produces 710 horsepower and 656 lbft (890 Nm).

Mansory was able to get more power from the eight-cylinder through a modified engine management system and custom exhaust. This has had a positive effect on performance. It now takes just three seconds to sprint from 0-60 mph (100 km/h), and the top speed is now 208 mph (334km/h).

Ferrari has just unveiled the 812 Competizione and the 812 Competizione a (Aperta duo) and it is likely that Mansory will soon have its hand on the front-engined V12 flagship.
