BMW X3M Competition Tuned byManhart To 630HP Is One Mean SUV
The tuner was able to quickly work on BMW’s first M badged X3.
BMW introduced the M versions for the X5 & X6 a decade ago. This year, BMW launched their smaller siblings with the rollouts of the X3 M, X4 M and their hotter M Competition derivatives. The production of both the new M products began in April. However, one German tuner has managed to obtain the standardly-styled version of the performance SUV.
Manhart is the name of its game and “MHX3 600 is its game.” YouTube Star Shmee The tuner was kind enough to let me see the muscular X3 M Competition. It looks a lot like the standard model but packs a much bigger punch. This is because the engine that you’ll find next to it M3 The 3.0-liter inline-six 3.0-liter engine with two turbochargers no longer produces the stock 515 horsepower. It has been re-engineered to produce a hefty 630 hp. The S58 engine’s peak torque is up significantly from the series 442 lb/ft (600 Nm), to 579 Lb/ft (785Nm).
Apart from messing with the BMW motor, Manhart also removed standard wheels to make way for large 21-inch wheels with a golden pinstripe that matches the other contrast accents on the bodywork. The custom H&R lowering springs bring it 30 millimeters (1.25 inches) closer to the road, and the back houses the four 100mm (4.25 inch) ceramic tips that are part of an aftermarket exhaust system.
The standard BMW X3 M Competition takes 4.1 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 kph) and Manhart’s version is likely to do the same in less than four seconds thanks to its healthy power boost. The tuner offers a similar upgrade package to the sleeker X4 M Competition. This should provide nearly identical performance as the Shmee who used the Autobahn’s unrestricted sections.
