This is the Hyundai wagon that you will never forget.
Hyundai does not offer a new Sonata stationwagon. Rumours of such a machine circulated back in 2018, but they have proven to be false. Kolesa.ru didn’t stop Nikita Chiko from rendering a Sonata wagon rendering. The familiar and talented rendering artist displayed a long roof Sonata earlier in the year. We now have a rougher version of this fictional creation, which mirrors the work of automakers Subaru or Mercedes-Benz.
This Sonata Allroad crossover wagon uses the same formula as the Subaru Outback Wilderness, Mercedes-Benz C-Class All-Terrain. Due to suspension modifications and larger wheels, the body is a little higher than normal. For better protection against stones and other road debris, the fenders are fitted with prominent trim. You can’t make a rugged appearance with out adding black trim. The side mirrors have been blacked and the chrome is less everywhere.
There are some differences between this rendering, and the street-oriented version. The front and rear fascias have been slightly revised to show more aggression, with bigger intakes at each end and prominent exhaust outlets at both the back.
Rear-view renders also show the darker color of the wheel arches and fascias. This suggests a different material which is more resistant to road debris than regular bodywork. The entire rendering is updated in the same way an automaker would for an off-road-focused wagon. This leaves one question. Could Hyundai really build something like this one?
Sonata wagon rumors from 2018 were mentioned in this article. It was prior to the debut of the new generation, but more importantly it was before we learned about the Genesis G70 Shoting Brake. It is possible that those rumors were circulating from the G70. In fact, we have not heard anything about the Sonata since then. But wagons remain very popular on the European market, so anything is possible. These renderings of the new Sonata make it a striking vehicle. Perhaps Hyundai will consider making this leap?
