Jaguar C-X75 supercar will produce 500-bhp with 1.6 turbo

Jaguar confirmed to British magazine Autocar, that the supercar would be powered by a powerful petrol/electric hybrid system producing around 500 bhp (373kW / 507 PS).

Jaguar had not provided any details about the powertrain when it confirmed production of the CX75 back May. Jaguar has now confirmed to British magazine Autocar the supercar’s powertrain will be a powerful petrol-electric hybrid system that produces approximately 500 horsepower (373 kW/ 507 PS).

The C-X75 will be powered by a “extraordinary” turbocharged, supercharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder motor that can rev to 10,000rpm. Jaguar has provided plug-in extended capability to the C-X75 through two electric motors, one on each of its front and rear axles. A liquid-cooled 200 kg (441lbs) battery pack will power the motors. This will allow for electric-only range of 60 km (36.7 mph), while still allowing them to perform the 0-60mph sprint in just 6.0 seconds. According to the C-X75’s design team, the engine can reach speeds of up to 200 mph (322 km/h), and a 0-60 mph sprint time of 3.0 seconds.

The prototype stage of development is now complete. Jaguar will only build 250 units of C-X75, which will run between PS700,000.000 and PS900,000. Each unit will cost between EUR781,000 and EUR1,000,000, depending on the markets.
