Crossovers are the future. You can be further convinced by Nissan’s presence on the 2019 SEMA Show. The 370Z is a big-horsepower sports car that boasts 750 horsepower (559 kilowatts). A Frontier Desert Runner, with 600-hp (447 kW), a boosted V8 is available to off-road enthusiasts. For its full-size Titan, truck enthusiasts can browse all kinds of Nissan accessories. The sport compact crowd also gets. . . A Nissan Kicks?

It’s actually not as bad as it sounds. The Kicks is a small crossover that’s very popular. spent time last year with the five-door, inexpensive model. We found it to be very stylish. It also offers great tech and plenty of space. The performance was not great, but that’s where Kicks Street Sport comes in.

This SEMA-soaking crossover has a turbocharged engine. MA Motorsports was the one to contact for a customized Garrett turbocharger kit, and an engine tune. The other end of the exhaust system had a Nismo pipe for good measure. Although Nissan’s specification sheet does not list power output, the stock Kicks was interesting with its standard-issue rating of 125 horsepower (93 kW), so any improvement is a good thing. Performance should be improved by adding custom coilovers to all four corners. This sounds more like a sport compact design.

This is especially true when you see the Kicks’ insane body kit. 360 Composites designed side skirts, a roof spoiler and a huge front air dam. It’s almost comically big. MA Motorsports added an extra dimension to the car’s exterior by adding a widebody treatment on the fenders. The tires are then filled with 245/45-17 inch tires on Volk Racing wheels with a large offset. Sparco SPX carbon buckets replace stock seats because you can’t race a car without racing seats.

This is something you can purchase at your Nissan dealer? No. It is not something you can do yourself at your local Nissan dealer. No. No. It remains to be seen if this is a reality, but Nissan is showing the world it can exist. It could even be quite cool.
