Watch the 2021 Audi RS6 Avant accelerate like a supercar The super wagon sprints in just 3.6 seconds, as advertised. Audi Sport has been investing a lot in diversifying its SUV lineup, but this doesn’t mean that its core models are being neglected. Let’s take a look at the newAvant RS6The combines the best of both worlds: the practicality and performance of a wagon, with the finesse of an Audi supercar. Ingolstadt calls it the perfect all-in-one vehicle. The best part about the new RS6 is? It is finally coming to the United States. The Tango Red example was taken by Motor1.com friend Audiography in Malibu California. There, the supercar disguised to be a family wagon was put to the test. It was able to accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h). Audi claims that the car took 3.6 seconds to complete this task, with the launch control system activated. We were told that a separate test using an onboard Vbox produced a sprint time just 3.48 seconds for a larger car weighing 4,575 pounds (2.075 kgs) without the use of a driver. There’s also the styling. This is a marked departure from the A6 Avant. The RS6 actually borrows three parts from the wagon, the roof and the tailgate, according to Andreas Joachim Koglin, Audi’s exterior designer. All other parts have been modified, including the front fascia that was adapted from the RS7 Sportback. The RS7 Sportback’s oversized oval exhausts make an incredible sound and are the largest ever installed to an RS model. This package is expensive. Audi has not yet revealed how much the package will cost in the USA, but it is expected that the base price in Germany will be EUR117,500. This is more than twice the price of the standard A6 Avant (EUR50,000). Although the fourth-generation RS6 will be more expensive than the EUR79,000 S6 Ant TDI, it’s still a great deal for a car that ticks all the right boxes.
