As a reward for information about Cold Case Murder, Family Offers Corvette To Reward

This case remains unsolved after ten years.

In an effort to close a cold case that has been closed for 10 years, a Memphis family is offering a $10,000 reward and a vintage Corvette. Dennis Gilliam, Mattie Williams’s son, was shot to death in September 2011, but his killer is still at large.

The automotive reward for anyone who is willing to accept the case includes a Corvette. Anthony Gilliam claims that the car has 76,000 kilometers. Other vital signs are not known, but the family will pay an extra $500 per month for the first year.

We need justice. We need justice for my family. It’s taken too long,” Williams said to WREG News Channel. All the evidence. They should have done something. They missed something. I will not give up. I will not give up.”

Gilliam, who was employed as a handyman in the home, was killed and shot during a fight. Williams realized that something was amiss the next morning after her son did not return her call at 7 a.m. The family of the grieving believed that the shooting was revenge for the fight.

Ryan Nelson, the suspect, was still in custody. However, there wasn’t enough evidence to bring him up for aggravated assault during the fight. Although there was ample evidence to convict Nelson for murder, a forensic match between the bullets and the girlfriend’s testimony against him proved it, the District Attorney stated that the evidence wasn’t sufficient to bring the case to trial. It’s not what Dennis Gilliam and his family wanted to hear.

The DA said that the case could be reopened if additional evidence is available. The family is hopeful that justice will prevail soon and the case can then be closed.
