The UX 250h version is in the F Sport specification.
Is there space in the small crossover market for another model in an already crowded segment? Lexus appears to think so, as Toyota’s premium brand dropped a teaser picture announcing its road-going UX. The new CUV was shown here at the Paris Motor Show 2016 by its namesake concept. Its wide hips and full-width rear lights strip are similar to the showcars before it.
The teaser image is exposed by fiddling. It’s the UX250h. According to the filename, it’s most likely the F Sport model. Although the original concept was controversial, it was likely to be more practical for production. We expect a bold exterior, with a large spindle grille and sharp-looking headlights.
There are no details yet. However, Lexus has trademarked the UX 200 and UX 250 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. This means that at least three members of the Lexus team will be available and that there will be a launch in the U.S. Lexus promises it will not go below $30,000 in the U.S. so the model will be at least half the price of the Audi QR3, BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA. The UX will fill the gap left by the CT 200h’s death due to low demand, however strange this may sound.
The production-ready UX will be unveiled by Lexus on March 6, during the first day of the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. This is where the three-row RXL and the LF-1 Limitless concept make their European debuts. The special edition RC F Coupe, also from Switzerland, will be on display to celebrate the 10 th Anniversary of Lexus F models.
