BMW actually is considering a convertible version of the X2.
BMW is excited about its small X2 SUV. Buyers will be able to choose from either front- or all-wheel drive models, but BMW will also soon offer a variety of variants that range from a performance-oriented M to a possible cabriolet model. To help you visualize the topless X2 in action, rendering artists created an online model.
The BMW X2 cabrio concept shares many similarities with the hardtop model. The front fascia has a distinctive BMW look, with dual kidney grilles and a larger, more prominent grille. The headlights look sleek, and could be even more sleek than the standard hardtop. Two accent vents at each corner add to its individuality.
Although it’s difficult to say with certainty that it looks great, The convertible SUV look is impossible to achieve with the Range Rover Evoque. It would be an exceptional offering, and BMW seriously considers it. In January, it was reported that the German automaker planned a convertible X2 in direct response to Evoque’s topless design.
There is no word yet on when the X2 cabrio model will debut. However, you can expect it to be available within the next year. Because the BMW X2 is still quite new, the next version – which will likely be the more powerful M35i model – won’t be revealed for a while.
Buyers will be content with the standard X2 for now. The standard SUV is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that produces 248 horsepower (184kW) and 258 poundfeet of torque. It can be paired to either front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive X2 is priced at $39,395, while a cheaper front-drive model is available for $37,395.
