We can see that the Gladiator-based ideas will showcase new and old ideas.
Jeep people can be unique and so is their annual get-togethers. They don’t park in endless rows, but they get out on the trails. An annual Easter Jeep Safari is held in Moab Utah. It promises nine days full of adventure and trail riding, far from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The Moab Chamber started the event in 1967 and it has continued to grow steadily ever since. FCA/Jeep is involved in the event for many years, providing support and getting in on all of the fun.
They create new concepts each year to debut at the Easter Jeep Safari, instead of at auto shows, such as those in Detroit, New York, and Los Angeles. We have been teased with two photos that show details about the two concepts they plan to debut this year.
The first image shows a blue Jeep. It is centered on the driver’s door and part the hood. This is a Gladiator. It’s not a Wrangler. It’s possible it’s a Gladiator with a short wheelbase.
Retro-styled Jeep fender badges are accompanied by a J6 badge. This is likely a nod towards Jeep’s J series pickups from the 1970s. Jeep’s new model was named after those trucks, also known as the J10/J20 or Gladiator. We are eager to see what retro features have been added to Gladiator’s debut.
Another concept teaser shows a rendering with alternating shades in highliter yellow, white, and black. The rear shows the Gladiator, this time with four doors. It has big flares and bigger tires. There’s also a roll bar in its bed. This is a unique touch you won’t find on pickups.
We will know the truth when the concepts are revealed at the Easter Jeep Safari this year, which runs April 13th through 21st.
