2020 Subaru Outback Launches Today: Watch The Livestream Here

The livestream will begin at 11:15 AM ET/ 3:15 PM GMT.

Subaru will soon unveil its new wagon after seeing it at the Chicago Auto Show. The new Outback will be debuting in New York today. It is designed to enhance a winning formula to attract outdoorsy buyers who aren’t willing to take the SUV route.

We haven’t seen the Legacy and don’t expect anything new in the design of the long-roof version. Subie has released a few teaser photos that show the typical Outback design cues. These include a jacked up suspension, large black plastic body cladding and a roof rack. The Legacy’s portrait-oriented display, likely with the same 11.6-inch diagonal, will be transferred inside to the dashboard.

Subaru’s sixth-generation alternative to the Audi A4 Allroad, Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, Audi A4 Allroad and Volvo V60 Cross Country will likely inherit the majority of its sedan counterpart. The entry-level model will have a 2.5-liter boxer engine rated at 182 horsepower (136kilowatts), and 176 poundfeet (239 Newton meters) of torque. A turbocharged 2.4-liter engine produces 260 horsepower (194 kW) or 277 lbft (376Nm) in the Legacy or Ascent. No matter what engine you choose, power will only be transmitted to the axles through a continuously variable transmission.

Subaru is yet to announce when the Outback will be available for purchase, but given that it is only mid April and the car has 2020 model year, dealers should have it before the end.

Livestreaming from the New York Auto Show begins at 11:15 AM ET/ 3:15 PM GMT. So, the wait is almost over. This space will provide all the information you need about 2020 Subaru Outback.
