Is Aging SLS Black Series able to beat the New BMW M3 in a Drag Race?

It’s impossible to say which door has the coolest.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a better choice than the new BMW. However, performance is a good indicator of how the car performs in straight lines.

This comparison was hosted by UK’s Carwow in a Drag Race video. These competitors aren’t your typical versions. We have the SLS AMG Black Series as well as the M3 Competition.

Let’s start with the numbers, as usual. The Black Series had 622 horsepower (464 Kilowatts) and 468 pounds-feet (635 Newton meters) more torque than the SLS AMG. Carbon fiber elements and a titanium exhaust system make it 154 pounds lighter than the non-Black Series model. The SLS AMG Black Series is lighter than the BMW by a significant margin.

Is Aging SLS Black Series able to beat the New BMW M3 in a Drag Race?

The BMW M3 Competition has a slightly lower output. The G80 model produces 503 horsepower (375 kW) but has 479 lbs (650Nm) more torque due to forced air induction.

These figures would lead you to believe that the SLS AMG Black Series will win by a wide margin. But is this really true? You should still take into account traction and other factors, such as driver skills, which were tested at this week’s drag racing event.

You can watch the video above if you haven’t yet. The numbers will make it easier for the Merc. Will the newer technologies of BMW win out against a stronger competitor? You can see the results in the video at the top of this page.
