How does a time of 3.8 seconds to run 0-60 mph sound?
The stealthy and black Volkswagen Golf R tuned to Manhart. The hot hatch was showcased last month, and we were impressed by its performance.
Manhart was able, after engine ECU-remapping with carbon intake, to extract 450 horsepower (336 kilowatts), and 369 pound-feet (509 Newton-meters), from the 2.0-liter four-banger. These numbers are comparable to the Audi RS3 or Mercedes-AMG A45S and can be more powerful than the Golf R420.
How does the Golf R Mk7.5 boosted perform in real-life? AutoTopNL released an acceleration test video for the limited-production Manhart RS450, and it did not disappoint.
The VW GolfR can travel 0 to 100 km/h (62 miles per an hour) in 3.8 seconds with launch control. This five-door hatchback looks almost identical to a regular black Golf, with the exception of the front spoiler lip and subtle body decals.
It ran a quarter mile in 11.96 seconds. It was not bad. It was interesting to note that the 100-200 km/h (124 MPH) speed was reached in 9.94 seconds. This is a lot for a vehicle with 450 horsepower. Many viewers noticed this as well. Some even believed that the power output was incorrect.
It is what it is. The Manhart-tuned Golf R remains an amazing machine and we are excited to see what the German tuner has in the pipeline for the Golf R Mk8.
You can also watch AutoTopNL run at 283 km/h (174 MPH) on the video above.
