Ferrari Teases a New Revolutionary Sports Car: Is It The Hybrid V6

Keep the date in mind: June 24,

The V12-powered Competizione was introduced in the second half of April. Now, the company is preparing to unveil a new sports vehicle with six fewer engines. The arrival of the new “revolutionary Prancing horse” is signalled by a rather obscure teaser video. It will be officially revealed on Monday, June 24, at 12:01 PM.

Maranello’s peeps aren’t giving any clues about the type of Ferrari we will see next week. However, the use of “revolutionary”, suggests that it will be a completely different breed. The members of the FerrariChat forums All agree that the new entry-level model by the Italian brand will use a V6 engine. Similar to the SF90 Stradale’s plug-in hybrid powertrain, the new model will be similar. There are conflicting reports on the combustion engine. Some say it will feature an all-Ferrari V6 and others believe it will use Maserati’s twin turbo 3.0-liter Nettuno. It generates 621 horsepower in the MC20. However, we expect a higher output from the modern-day Dino one if you add the electric motor.

The new Ferrari, codenamed F171, is said to have 700 horsepower. This will be enough to compete with the McLaren Artura which also has a V6 and an emotor, for a total power output of 671 horsepower. Although the battery pack is supposedly carried over from SF90 Stradale, it will likely provide a limited electric range. Not that many Ferrari owners care about that.

The teaser video below shows FDA Esports Driver David Tonizza and 2019 F1 Pro Series World Champ David Tonizza going about their business before the camera focuses its attention on a real car’s steering column. We’re sure some people will enjoy the touch-sensitive controls on the newer Ferraris. Let’s hope the June 24 unveiling involves a real road-going car, and not a virtual one
