Hennessey Drag Races Hot Rod Lincoln Navigator with Stock Chevy Tahoe

It’s a very lopsided race. But by how much?

This is something we don’t see every day. We see drag racing all the time, but not drag racing. We don’t often see a vehicle from Lincoln engaging in this activity, especially if it is a large vehicle like the Navigator. It’s not a flashy SUV in stock trim, but it is one of the many vehicles that attract attention at Hennessey performance.

Hennessey has posted a new drag racing video to remind you of the benefits EcoBoost tuning can bring to a full-size luxury vehicle. This is the HPE600 Navigator with upgrades for 2018-2021 models. Ford’s EcoBoost V6 engine, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 450 horsepower (35 kilowatts) is the engine. This sounds amazing until you realize that this engine weighs in at 6,000 pounds. Hennessey upgrades the intake, intercooler, and bolts on a new exhaust to increase the horsepower.

Hennessey Drag Races Hot Rod Lincoln Navigator with Stock Chevy Tahoe

Hennessey released a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe High Country stock model to make it live. The 6.2-liter V8 produces 420 horsepower (313 kW) and is significantly outgunned. A modified Tahoe could be paired with the hot rod Lincoln. Aftermarket companies have found it increasingly difficult to understand computer systems in General Motors vehicles. The video shows that the new Tahoe is not tunable.

It’s a great way to promote Hennessey’s modified Navigator and a wake up call for GM for buyers looking for more than the factory has to offer. The Tahoe is not only beaten in the drag race, but also humiliated by the bus lengths. The big Chevy can’t match the Lincoln and its Hennessey upgrades, even with a slight advantage at the start of the second run. There aren’t many customers who would love a full-size Chevy SUV, or a GMC Yukon/ Cadillac Escalade with insane power. For those who do, the Lincoln is the best option.
