It is made of titanium and Inconel.
VB now offers a new option for Lamborghini Huracan STO owners who want to modify their supercars. The company was founded by Valentino Balboni (former Lamborghini test driver) and makes a lightweight hybrid titanium-Inconel exhaust system for the supercar.
The exhaust follows the same formula as other VB systems – reducing in weight. The new Huracan system is just 14.2 pounds (6.45 kgs). The exhaust system is made of titanium, Inconel for the bellows, and titanium for the exhaust. However, welding the two materials proved difficult, so VB decided to create the exhaust with two billet-cut titanium links on each pipe.
Its also incorporates gas flow optimization based upon jet engine technology. The exhaust is completely handcrafted with TIG welding. The exhaust can be bolted on using OEM mountings. This is exactly what Lamborghini used to test drive.
Balboni stated, “Our new VB exhaust system is the best that can be manufactured for the incredible Huracan ST.”
Balboni started VB in 2016 and built a titanium exhaust for Aventador LP-750 SV. This was followed by custom pipes to fit the Aventador S-series. VB also built exhausts to the Aventador SVJ, Ultimae.
The Lamborghini Huracan STO debuts in late 2020. It was designed to be a supercar for racing and the company wanted it to be lighter than the Huracan Performante. Lamborghini used more than 75% of the car’s bodywork in carbon fiber, and the windscreen was also lighter by 20%.
The supercar’s naturally aspirated V10 of 5.2-liters makes 630 horsepower (470kilowatts) & 443 pound-feet (603 Newton-meters). It can reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) in just three seconds. It takes only nine seconds to reach 124 mph (200 km/h).
VB will restrict Huracan STO exhaust system production worldwide to 40 units. It will offer 20 Valentino signature editions systems. These will include the owner’s name, and any other unique details, for clients who are very special. It is made in Italy and delivered by VB in a very special flight case.
