Block is currently looking for a replacement.
Ken Block transformed a Ford Escort RS Cosworth classic into a modern rally car in October 2017. Block was using the vehicle for competition until July 2018, when tragedy struck. Block was third at the New England Forest Rally and hit a rock on Stage 4 which caused the car to roll. The Escort then caught fire as if that wasn’t enough. Block and his co-driver were not injured. However, new images show the extent of the damage. This vehicle cannot be brought back on the road.
Block has already started to build a new one. He posted on Facebook that he was devastated by the loss of his Cossie. However, he said that he would build another one.
Exterior is now a burned husk. The engine and turbo can still be seen under the hood. However, there is a thick layer ash covering it. Because there is no wire left, the interior is even worse.
Block and Alex Gelsomino, Block’s co-driver, were participating in the American Rally Association series with Escort RS CS Cosworth to face off against modern competitors. The turbocharged 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, which produces 400 horsepower (298 kW), and the seven-speed sequential gearbox kept it going. This engine block was made of aluminum and is lighter than the standard steel. Below is a gallery that shows the car in its best moments.
Block has a lot of Fords, so don’t feel bad. The list includes , one of only RS200s left in the United States, and a 1978 Ford Escort RS Mk2. The Hoonicorn, which looks like a Mustang but has 1,400 horsepower from a wild biturbo setup, is also available.
