Audi will soon introduce the next-generation Q5 crossover sometime next year. It was already tested earlier in the year. A new batch of testers shows that Audi is continuing to improve its products. Although we don’t have much information about the model, we don’t think Audi will change its formula in any significant way. It will get new styling and other important updates.

The traditional styling details at the rear are very minimal. Audi uses stand-in taillights. This will change before production starts. The rear bumper has a pair of tailpipes, but the rest of design is hidden beneath the camo wrap.

The Q5 is a little larger than the model it replaces. The wheelbase is a little longer than the model it will replace, which could mean more cargo space and legroom for second row passengers. Audi is shifting towards battery-electric vehicles but the combustion engine will still play an important role in its vehicle portfolio. This includes the powertrain for the next-generation Q5. However, we are not privy to any details about Audi’s powertrain plans. The crossover will be available with a variety of gasoline and diesel engines, as well as mild-hybrid assist. We know that Audi will sell a plug in hybrid version of the crossover, and that the all-electric Q5 Etron is also on the horizon.

We don’t anticipate Audi to unveil the Q5 until next year, as it is still in its early stages of development. It will most likely be available at dealers in time for the 2024 model-year. Audi will likely offer the Q5 in a Sportback body style. It should debut alongside its traditional-looking stablemate.
