The electric motor produces 174 horsepower.
The Chevrolet Bolt is given a Chinese makeover and now the Buick Velite 7 has a more crossover-centric design. China’s images show the styling changes. Photos of the Velite 7 show a different front end to the Bolt. The narrow headlights have a hooked shape at the corners and are integrated into the grille at one end. The front fascia has slits at each end and a small opening at the center. The Bolt’s ride height is slightly higher because of the Cladding around the Fenders and Side Sills. The Velite 7 gets a facelift at the rear, as does its Chevy sibling. The taillights are very small and the strip that runs across the tailgate links them together is also present. The lower section is minimalist in design with a mix of black and white.
AutoHome reports that the Velite 7 produces 174 horsepower (130kilowatts), as opposed to 201 HP (150 kW), which is the Bolt’s 2020 model. It is unknown what the battery capacity and vehicle’s range are. The Bolt’s EPA range rating of 259 miles (417 km).
Velite 7 will come with blindspot monitoring, radar to monitor the front and back, and a panoramic sunroof. The prices for the EV are not available and Home does not specify when the new Buick will be available in China.
This Bolt-inspired version might appeal to you if you are looking for something more cross-over. To support the development of a Bolt-based electric vehicle, the automaker has invested $300 million in Orion Assembly. Although the company has not yet identified the vehicle, trademark filings suggest that it is.
