It is a remarkable evolutionary update to the current model.

This is a huge surprise. New spy photos from southeast Michigan capture this 2021 Ford F-150prototype, looking completely new in front. We get a very close view of the grille and headlights. The truck’s rest is covered in a very minimal camouflage, but the most striking news is the F-150’s exposed face.

The grille clearly has Ranger influences. The stacked headlights and angled housing remind me of the GMC Sierra. Ford isn’t using the same massive grille design as its crosstown rival. Instead, it has chosen to follow RAM’s lead with a smooth, but aggressive design. Although our initial impressions are positive, we would be interested to see the whole truck without camouflage.

Our spy sources claim that there are no hidden panels under the wrap. So, aside from the distracting nature of the wrappings, you will see what you get. Ford’s side-kink is still visible on the new model for the front doors, as well as the external keypad. The rig is still very slab-sided, with little to no prominence around the wheel wells. Also, the tailgate on this particular model looks quite basic.

This sighting is quite surprising, but the big news is the all electric F-150. It is expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of 2021. Ford also dropped its famous teaser of an F-150 electric test mule showing its torque pulling a train. It is not known if we will get any news about the fully electric model after the F-150 launches later in the year.

We have not heard anything about the official debut. We have an unofficial tip that suggests that pilot production of 2021 trucks is underway at Ford’s Dearborn F-150 plant. Regular production is expected to start in August. This means that an official debut could take place at the New York Auto Show, the Detroit Auto Show, in June, or any other time with a special event.
