2019 Audi A4 Sedan, Avant Unveiled In Europe With Discreet Changes

It is difficult to determine what has changed.

We’ve shared several batches of the Audi A4 in recent months. In all cases, the prototypes were very plain. It makes perfect sense that the Four Rings didn’t bother to disguise the test vehicles, as the subtle changes made by the premium midsize sedans and wagons are very subtle.

The A4 Sedan (and the practical A4 Avant) have a new bumper. It includes pentagonal surrounds to the side air inlets and trim that looks like an “U”. This mimics aluminum’s appearance, but it isn’t. The honeycomb pattern makes the wagon and sedan look sportier. The airflow from the inlets is directed towards the wheel housings, where it flows past the wheels to increase aero.

The design of the corporate Singleframe grill depends on whether it is A4 or B4. The grille can now be customized with the optional S Line exterior package. It features slats that mimic a 3D effect. Audi also modified the rear bumper, installing two trapezoidal exhaust finishers to replace the round and smaller tailpipes. A reworked diffuser is now between the two. It is smaller than ever before. Sets from 16 to 19 inches have been added to the alloy wheel catalog.

The 2019MY also features an S Line Competition package that includes a Turbo Blue paint, an Avant-mounted spoiler, and a selenite-silver front bumper blade and stone-chip guard strip. The Audi logo is found on the lower portion of the rear doors. Also, red brake calipers and LED headlights are available, as well as sport suspension and 19-inch wheels from Audi Sport.

The 2019 Audi A4 comes with the S Line Competition package. It also features some interior changes, including black partial leather sport seats, a 3-spoke steering wheel and RS carbon inlays. You can configure the cabin with S-sport seats in magma or other colors.

Audi will be selling the mildly updated A4 Avant and A4 Sedan in Germany starting the third quarter.
