Is 503 horsepower too bland? Here you go.
BMW just gave its X3M models a much-needed refresh this past year. The SUV’s exterior has been given a few visual enhancements to improve its aesthetic appeal. If the original 503 horsepower (468kilowatts, 650 Nm) and 479lb-ft (479 lb-ft) aren’t enough, Manhart offers something that may pique your high-octane curiosity.
The Manhart MHX3 600 is now available. Based on the prefacelift model of the current BMW X3 Competition, this German tuner gave the small SAV extra oomph and added other upgrades to the exterior and interior.
Manhart modified the twin-turbo S58 straight-six 3.0-liter engine to produce 626 hp (468 kW), and 579 lbft (785 Nm). This was possible thanks to the tuner’s MHtronik auxiliary controller unit. Manhart also upgraded the exhaust system to include valve control and a stainless steel exhaust system.
If you are buying from outside Germany, however, you have the option to choose from a variety of non-TUV approved options. These include tailpipes with Manhart carbon 4x100mm or ceramic coated. You can also get suspension tuning and a set 30mm lowering springs from H&R.
The German aftermarket specialist chose a variety of carbon fiber bits for exterior modifications. These include the front splitter and rear diffuser, front splitter, rear bumper inlets, mirror caps, two-piece front-bumper add-ons, front bumper inlets, and two-piece front-bumper inlets. There is also a choice between vinyl wrap or a set of decals. You can also choose between the 21-inch Concave One wheels in Silk Matt Black and the larger 22-inch wheels Alpina. As an option, both can be equipped with gold rim decoration.
Manhart says that interior upgrades and brakes are also available on request. Prices are per unit. The ECU remapping costs 2,856.30 euro or approximately $3,300 at current exchange rates.
All upgrades are applicable to the BMWX4 M.
