Lamborghini Aventador S Drag Races McLaren 720S For Droptop Supremacy

It was closer than you thought.

A supercar is the best! It’s a supercar, but it also happens to be convertible. Ok, the McLaren 720S Spider has a retractable roof that can be raised and lowered in just 10 seconds. The Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster must store its removable roof inside the trunk. But that’s not the point. These two supercars, which are fast, beautiful and expensive, should be compared. A drag strip is the perfect place to find out who comes out on top.

CarWow had the pleasure of acquiring the two vehicles. The bright green Aventador was a personal vehicle of YouTube star Yiannimize. The cars are in stock condition, but there are some differences when we get into the numbers. The McLaren 720S Spider features a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 that produces 710 horsepower and 568 poundfeet of torque in a rear-wheel-drive configuration. The Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster uses a 6.5-liter bi-turbo V12 with 740 horsepower and 509 pounds-feet torque. It’s also mated to an All-Wheel Drive system. The Aventador is 3,816 lbs, while the McLaren 720S weighs in at 3,167 lbs. The video also shows it raining a little, which gives the all-wheel drive system an advantage.

It will all boil down to who can use the benefits of their cars. The McLaren is lighter and more powerful than the Aventador, while the Aventador has 30 more horsepower and an automatic transmission system.

You can see the video to see who wins and which supercar convertible offers the best street cred, while still allowing you to feel the wind in your hair.
