Venue N is not being ruled out.
The New York Auto Show stars of Hyundai are the eighth-generation Sonata sedan, and the new Venue small crossover. We know that the N Line version of the former was already confirmed. The latter will be able to produce a spicy variant for those who find the regular model boring. Brian Smith, Hyundai North America’s Chief Operating Officer, shared good news about the Venue N Line, which is expected to be released in the near future.
You shouldn’t be too excited as the Sonata N Line will receive a stronger engine. However, the Venue N Line will mainly focus on styling upgrades. Models such as the i30 N Line or the i30 Fastback N Line will all be on display without extra power, although they have larger front brakes and some chassis tweaks.
You may be aware that the Elantra GT N Line is the first Hyundai model of its kind in America. It was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show at the start of the year to replace the Elantra GT Sport. It is essentially the North American version the i30 N Line, with no modifications underneath.
These cars would be followed by the Venue N Line . However, if you are looking for more power, Hyundai may build a full-fat N version its small crossover. Brian Smith, Drive, did not rule out a Venue N model when asked.
Hyundai is interested in diversifying its N Line portfolio. They also want to expand the N family beyond the Veloster N and i30 N. A Tucson N with more than 340 horsepower is in the works, while a bespoke N vehicle is also in the plans.
