Here are the first spy images of the C-Class wagon.
It will only take a few more months before MercedesBenz unveils the next W206-generation CClass. We’ve actually seen the sedan’s metal recently, while we saw the latest sighting of the wagon form earlier in the month.
Our spies spotted the AMG version, which was spotted on wet roads, while testing the C-Class wagon. The AMG C-Class wagon (or T model, as Mercedes prefers it to be called) is wrapped in full. We are sure that this is the hotter version the long-roofed compact Merc, as shown on the spy photos below.
The larger brake rotors that are housed in the dual-five-spoke alloys are a big giveaway. This is also an AMG. However, the four exhaust outlets that flank the diffuser indicate that it is an AMG. The round tips indicate that it is either the C43 or C53 with a lower power output. Not to be confused, the AMG has four square tips.
The Panamericana grille, which is the most noticeable sign, is important. Mercedes may be trying to conceal the sporty front bumper with camo wrap. However, closer inspection will reveal its wide side sills which will give the estate a more aggressive front fascia.
It’s not clear if this AMG will be called C43 or C53. Rumours suggest that the wagon will be a mild hybrid. The hybrid powertrain will be available on the C63, although nothing has been confirmed.
While the standard C-Class will be unveiled sooner than expected, don’t be surprised if AMG versions are not revealed at launch. Expect the go-fast models to arrive in the second half 2021.
