Black accents won’t conceal the SUV’s outdated lines.
Surprisingly, the Lexus LX will continue to live in 2019 It will also get an exterior makeover at the Los Angeles Auto Show next year. Today, Lexus showed off the LX Inspiration Series, a lightly reworked version of its LX – but don’t expect to be all that impressed.
The LX’s exterior is enhanced by the Inspiration Series package, which adds a few lukewarm design elements. The LX’s tired exterior is rehabilitated by the Black Onyx paint and 21-inch black wheels with matching centers caps. The black trim pieces are also found on the headlights and taillights.
Instead of going all-black, the cabin has a bright Moonlight White semi aniline leather trim. To match the rest, the black finish is used for the headliner, center console and carpets.
All LX Inspiration models include a rear-seat entertainment system, Mark Levinson’s 19-speaker audio system, color head up display, and heated and ventilated second- and front-row seats. The “Climate Concierge” feature heats and cools each of the four vehicle areas individually. Neat.
The engine is the only thing that can’t be upgraded. This engine is the same 5.7-liter V8 from the LX 570. It generates 383 horsepower and 403. pound-feet torque. It can tow up 7,000 pounds (3.175 kg) when paired with an eight speed automatic transmission.
The price of the LX’s light overhaul is a staggering $100,420. This is $14,590 more than the entry-level LX which starts at $85,830.
