On May 21, one of the most bizarre police chases ever witnessed occurred in Los Angeles. In an attempt to escape cops, a woman stole an RV and loaded her dogs into it.
Around 7:05 pm local time, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies saw the RV. It was reported as stolen according to the LA Times. The cops started following the vehicle, but the driver did not pull over. The woman crashed into a tree on her way. This caused a huge hole in the vehicle’s corner. But she continued to go. Another time, the motorhome was moving and one of the woman’s dogs jumped from the windshield. But she didn’t stop. The chase ended when the woman crashed into an parked car. The woman tried to flee, but a police officer stopped her. The video below shows the loyal dog sitting beside its owner, while she is being handcuffed.
According to the LA Times, the RV driver reached speeds of 60 mph (97 km/h) and struck seven vehicles. The injuries to the driver and two people required treatment at the hospital. Animal control also took custody of both dogs after they sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The woman was charged with several felonies, including hit-and-run and evading. Police also investigated the woman for driving under the influence. The woman was released on $100,000 bail.
