A further 100 horses can achieve a respectable speed of 193 miles an hour.
Startech, the tuning company, has just unveiled a modified Range Rover Velar. The new vehicle will grace the Geneva Motor Show’s stage starting tomorrow. Startech, a Brabus specialist, decided to work on AMG-powered versions of the Aston Martin DB11 using its biturbo 4.0 liter V8 engine.
First, a “Powered by Brabus” performance upgrade was implemented adding 100 horsepower (74 kW), and 125 Nm (92, lb-ft). The V8 now produces 601 horsepower (448 kW) as well as 800 Nm (590lb-ft) with Startech steroids. The DB11’s new muscle has clearly been reflected in its performance. The sprint to 62 mph (100 kph), has fallen by a tenth to 3.8 seconds, while the top speed has increased 6 mph (10 kph), to 193 mph (315 kph).
Startech did more than just provide the numbers. Startech also worked its magic on the Grand Tourer’s highly-desired body. Startech developed a series subtle aerodynamic tweaks from carbon fiber, which can be finished in matte or high gloss. Copper accents have been added to the roof’s sides and horizontal fins at the front fenders. This contrasts the predominant anthracite color. A custom diffuser is located at the rear of the Aston Martin. It features an F1-styled, reverse light. We also notice dark chrome exhaust tips that have an angular shape rather than the usual circular.
This particular DB11 is mounted on 21-inch wheels that were made specifically for Aston Martin. The hub cover makes it appear these wheels are center-lock, but they are not. The spokes have copper accents to match the bodywork. The brake calipers are finished in a similar way to complete the visual package.
Startech’s Geneva-bound Showcar has seen a lot of changes inside. Startech added a customized leather upholstery with carbon accents and high-end stitching to the interior.
