Ford has revealed the 2015 C-MAX/Grand C-MAX facelifts. This follows a teaser that was released earlier in the week. It includes a number of mechanical and visual changes.
The front fascia has been redesigned with an Aston Martin-like grille and updated headlights with LED daytime running lamps. The rear features a simpler and cleaner tailgate, with smaller taillights. A slightly revised bumper is also included. Ford will offer new colors and new alloy wheel designs as part of the exterior improvements.
The SYNC 2 infotainment program, which was introduced on the facelifted Focus, is now available inside the cabin. It features an eight-inch touchscreen display that replaces most buttons and allows for a more cluttered dashboard layout. Ford claims that the cabin is made from better materials and has a heated steering column. There are also door-sill scuff plates, load-net fitting points and a second row of seats.
Thicker side glasses and more absorbent seals around rearview mirrors and tailgates have reduced noise, vibration, and harshness in the cabin. The engine bay heat shield, which has been filled by acoustic damping materials, has also helped to reduce engine noise. Diesel-powered models come with additional acoustic sealings to reduce engine noise intrusion.
The 2015 Ford C-MAX Grand C-MAX will come with a 1.5-liter TDCi engine rated at 120 PS, and a 2.0 TDCi engine rated at 140 PS and 163 PS. The 1.0-liter EcoBoost produces 100 PS &125 PS, while the 1.5-liter EcoBoost delivers 150 PS & 180 PS.
Both MPVs have the latest steering and suspension systems. Ford’s MyKey technology allows owners to program the key to limit top speed, reduce audio system volume, and other similar options. Bi-xenon HID headlamps can be purchased for more money. They also come with Adaptive Front Lighting System, Active Park Assist and Perpendicular Parking. Active City Stop collision avoidance system, Active Braking, and many other safety and assistance systems.
The Paris Motor Show will host the unveiling of both the 2015 Ford C-MAX Facelifts and the Grand C-MAX Facelifts.
