Another major car show was affected by the coronavirus epidemic. This seems to be a string of delays and cancellations. The organizers of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance announced that this year’s event, originally scheduled for August 16, has been cancelled because of concerns raised by the COVID-19 global crisis.

2020 was supposed be the 70th anniversary The show’s tenth anniversary edition is not happening anymore. This milestone will be commemorated on August 15, 2021 when the next event is set to take place. Tickets purchased in advance will still be valid for next year’s reprogrammed event. According to the organizers of the show, the car selection process was completed recently. The press release also mentioned that the entrants were notified earlier in the month. These acceptance letters for the 70 th edition of Pebble Beach are valid until 2021.

According to the press release, “features will continue as planned with a display of past Best of Show winner along Stillwater Cove and special classes focusing upon Pininfarina coachwork (Pipinfarina 917, Talbot Lago Grand Sport, Miller Racing)

This announcement comes after the cancellations of two major auto shows: June’s Detroit and March’s Geneva. The New York Auto Show, which was due to be held last week, has been rescheduled for September 28 through September 6; the Beijing Show originally scheduled to begin this Tuesday will now run from September 26 until October 5.

Even the Paris Motor Show, originally scheduled for October 1, will be affected by the coronavirus epidemic. The organizers announced that the event would still be held but it would be a smaller event.
