The French hatch will come with three TCe engines starting with the petrol units. The base motor is the 1.2-liter 3-cylinder TCe100, which generates 100 PS (74 kW), and 175 Nm (135 lb-ft). These power figures allow for a 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) acceleration time of 12.3 seconds and an average fuel consumption of 5.4 liters/100 km. This engine is also available in a 130 PS version (96 kW), which produces 205 Nm (151lb-ft) and speeds up to 100 km/h (62mph) in 10.6 seconds. The average fuel consumption for this engine is 5.3 liters/100 km.
The 2.0-liter turbo EDC petrol engine will be the most powerful in the range. It has 205 PS (151kW) and 280Nm (207lb-ft). This engine is coupled to an EDC automatic transmission. This engine can run at 100 km/h (62mph) in just 7.1 seconds, returning 6 liters per 100 kilometers.
Customers can choose between 1.5 or 1.6 dCi diesel engines. The dCi 90 (66 kW) or dCi110 (81 kW) have 90 PS and 110 PS, respectively. While torque ratings are 220 Nm (162 and 162 lbft), and 260/250Nm (192/185 and 192 lbft) for EDC automatic and BVM manual models, respectively. Average fuel consumption (dCi 90), is 3.6-3.7 l/100km (dCi 100), and 3.3-3.7 l/100km (dCi100).
The 1.6-liter dCi engine is available in two power levels: 130 PS (96kW) or 160 PS (118kW), respectively, with torque levels of 320 and 380 Nm (281lb-ft), respectively. The Megane GT dCi 165 engine can sprint at 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 10 seconds, while the dCi 130 engine can run at 4 l/100 km fuel consumption.
