Fiat has paid homage to 500’s retro look for many years. introduced an electric version of its little hatchback . Although the nostalgia is lovely, a new rendering shows Fiat’s designers trying to recall another model: The 126.

Although the 500 was replaced by the 126, the 126 was introduced in 1972. However, the famous 500 didn’t retire until 1975. The production lasted until 2000 and more than 4.7 million vehicles were on the roads by that point. The 126p was particularly popular in Poland, where the Polski Fiat company assembled it. The 126 mobilized the masses in Poland and earned them the affectionate nickname Maluch which means dwarf in English. They were also very popular in the former Yugoslavia where Zastava created the machine.
Why not use the large number 126 fans to create a new one! This is the perfect time to launch the new electric platform, 500e. VW has already demonstrated how the ID could work. Modern LEDs could make the unadorned front look even more striking. Fiat should consider restoring the 126. The new electric platform could be a better investment if more vehicles are built using
it.
