The Shelby Cobra is a car that’s instantly recognizable for its iconic design, open top and vintage look. The Ford movie last year introduced the car to younger generations of car enthusiasts. Superformance’s latest release, MKIII-R Cobra, is based on that film.
Superformance CEO Lance Stander stated that the Superformance MKIIIR is a perfect blend of an old-school classic car and a modern-day touch. The MKIII-R is an American icon, with a major motion-picture release last year that featured the Cobra, it is enjoying a high level of popularity. We made sure that the Superformance MKIIIR lived up to the Cobra’s legendary legacy.
Although the Superformance MKII R is slightly different from the Cobra’s, it does have some similarities. The Superformance MKII-R has different front scallops and hood scoop designs. It also features a rear splitter and rear diffuser, which makes it look a little more sophisticated than the original Cobra. However, you should be able to see the Atlantic Blue paint job with anthracite stripes.
Modern touches include the fully independent, unequal-length A arms with adjustable Bilstein coils and telescopic shock absorber at the front and the fabricated hub carriers at the back. The MKIII-R comes with 18-inch wheels and LED headlights.The MKIII R has electronic gauges inside to compliment the vintage leather trims and French-stitched seat-colors.The MKIII R rolling chassis is available without an engine, just like other Superformance cars. It costs $79,900. Installation kits are available for Ford 302, 351 and 460 cubic-inch engines with Tremec 5-speed, Ford top loader 4-speed transmissions.
