The feature was present in the original Bronco, but it was eventually scrapped.

The new Bronco has a clear mission: to attract as many Jeep Wrangler customers as possible, and new customers to the offroad scene. Ford took the time to research its vehicle and gave it Wrangler-like characteristics while also adding some aces. The windshield can be removed for open-air experiences, much like the Jeep. However, unlike the Wrangler’s windshield, it is permanently fixed.

The 2021 Ford Bronco nearly got a folding windshield. Paul Wraith (chief designer of the vehicle) made the announcement while speaking to Ford Authority. Although the original version of the reborn offroader was designed to fit a folding windshield in its opening, the production model was not equipped with that feature. You could do that in the original vehicle.

Ford looked elsewhere to maintain the open-air feeling. Ford decided to look elsewhere for front pillars that could be slimmed without compromising safety. The airbags were moved in the “sport tubes” and the roof structure from the trunk to the windshield was modified.

The latest Wrangler offers this feature. It is easy to fold the windshield using just four bolts. This handy function is a part of Jeep’s long history. It dates back to Willys MB, which also had a folding windshield in order to fit into a crate for shipping during World War II.

The Bronco’s windshield cannot be folded down, but the four-door Bronco allows its owners to store their doors in the cargo space at the rear. Ford claims that the doors can be operated by one person, while the Wrangler’s are heavy and cumbersome.
