If you are looking for a Blazer, there are now more options.

The Chevy Blazer crossover is capable of towing up to 4,500 pounds (2,041 kilograms). It’s a tough crossover with a tow rating up to 4,500 lbs (2,041 kg). The Blazer actually has the third highest tow rating, behind only the Jeep Grand Cherokee , Honda Passport, and Jeep Grand Cherokee .

To maximize the Blazer’s towing power, however, it must have the 3.6L V6 LX engine, all-wheel drivetrain, as well as the optional V92 trailering package that offers a heavy-duty cooling system.

This means that you need AWD to maximize your Blazer’s towing. Also, settling for FWD trim means settling at 1,500 lb (680 kg) towing capacity.

However, this will change with the next model year update for the midsize crossover. GM Authority has announced that a special towing package is available for 2021 Chevy Blazer FWD models. The VR2 Trailering Package is a way for Blazer buyers to maximize their crossover’s pulling power.

The V92 Trailering Package can only be used on AWD models, while the VR2 will work with FWD. However, they are essentially identical, available in only 2LT, 3LT and Premier trims. Both Trailering Packages include Hitch Guidance for 2LT and 3LT. Premier trims receive extra Hitch View.

The Trailering Packages are only available on Blazers with a 3.6L LGX V6 engine. This engine produces 308 horsepower (366 Newton-meters) and 270 poundfeet (366 kilowatts). The 2020 Blazer RS AWD is able to get 21 MPG combined fuel efficiency.
