It could be based on the Toyota Yaris Cross.
Toyota’s trademark lawyers are busy filing applications for the names Lexus LBX and “LBX”. This moniker is not yet fully understood. Lexus Enthusiast was the first to discover the requests.
Toyota filed a trademark application for “LBX” in Europe on August 5. The company requested “LBX” as well as “Lexus LBX”, in Israel, on the same day. On August 7, the automaker submitted paperwork for “LBX”, in Iceland, and Switzerland. They all fall under the “automobiles” category.
We believe that the LBX is European-centric, given the locations of all trademark requests. Since the Lexus brand was founded, models have used alphanumeric model names that consist of two letters and numbers referring to the powertrain. LBX is not compatible with the standard nomenclature and there is no indication that the marque will be changing the branding scheme.
Lexus Enthusiast There are rumors that the trademark may be used for a new concept. Evidence supports this theory. Rumors suggest that The Toyota Yaris Cross You could purchase a Lexus variant The company would then call the BX. The small crossover would be below the UX. The marque could name the little crossover LBX if they want to show it off at a future event.
Toyota should apply for trademarks for the Lexus version of the Yaris Cross in Europe and Asia first, as the Yaris Cross was designed for Asian and European markets.
Toyota has also filed trademarks for Lexus RZ 450e in several countries, including the United States. This could be the name of an electric crossover that comes from the brand.
